About our baby room
The baby room provides a homely, happy
and relaxed atmosphere for 6 babies aged between 3 months – 12 months,
encouraging the children to feel comfortable and confident in leaving their
parents.
The children are cared for by shared
key worker that provide stability for both children and their parents. We aim
to follow the baby’s home routine as much as possible, as it helps to build the
trust and confidence between child and carer. We also offer home diaries to the
parents, retelling of their child’s fun day at nursery.

The environment

Homely with comfy chairs and cushions. |

Brightly decorated with lots of colourful pictures on the wall and
mobiles hanging from the ceiling. |

Each baby will have his or her own cot or where this is not possible,
their own clean bedding. |

The baby room also
has its own outdoor garden which encourages the babies to explore a
different environment in a safe manner. |

staff
|

There is a shared keyworker system ensures stability for both child and
parents. |

The staff to child ratio is one to three in the baby room. |

Staff are fully qualified and have first aid qualifications |
The
routine / activities

A
more one-to-one play is followed in the babies' room compared with other
rooms in the nursery, as the babies' own routine is followed. |

There is a variety of
activities and games appropriate to the child’s age, including painting,
sticking, water play, sand play and cooking. |
